Philosophy for Children (P4C) and Global Learning.

Welcome to the curriculum page for Global Learning.  Global learning is seen as being a thread that runs through school life, not just in the classroom but in the relationships we have with each other and the local community too. Our theme for the whole year is 'Sustainable Development Goals.' We aim to teach the children about these goals through our work in assemblies, British Values,  P4C and other subject areas.

These goals have been created by the United Nations, and the aim is for them to be in place by 2030. We will be introducing the children to the goals, and asking them to think about how they could help to achieve them. They include issues such as climate action, health and well being , fair trade, equality and education for all. Our aim as a school is to explore all of these issues through P4C (philosophy for children) so that they understand how important they are, and  begin to think about how we can all help to make the world a better place. We have a range of quality stories that we use in each year group to explore some of the issues around each of the goals.

Our BIG QUESTION for this year is 'What do you want the world to look like in 2030?'

If you would like to discuss these issues with your child and look at how you can also build them into family life, here is a link to a family activity pack.
