Class 1 2019 - 2020
Year 1 School Closures – Summer term 1
( Weeks beginning Monday 29th June, Monday 6th July and Monday 13th July )
I hope you are all well and have been having fun in the sunshine lately! I can’t believe that we are now in our last few weeks of Year 1. It has been an absolute delight to teach you all this year and I hope you have enjoyed your time with us too! Thank you for keeping in touch and sharing your home learning with me. You have all been working so hard and I am very proud of you all!
I am still working on putting our Year 1 video together so there is still time to send me any videos or photos if you want to be part of it. I have been very busy at school with those of you who have returned so it is taking a bit longer than I first thought! We now have our new outdoor area up and running, have planted out pots with flowers and vegetables and are building up more resources to use in there too!
For those of you that are remaining at home for the last few weeks, I have put together another pack of ideas, starting on Monday 29th June. Your new pack has an animal theme. I have included suggestions for literacy, phonics, numeracy with practical tasks, online links and worksheets as well as topic ideas.
It would be great if you could do a little bit of numeracy, phonics, reading and writing each day in short sessions with plenty of breaks between but please feel free to adapt any activities to suit you. Don’t forget to have breaks between too and look after yourselves by getting lots of fresh air, going on walks or bike rides, planting vegetables, birdwatching, baking, painting and looking after your pets!
If you need anything, please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org and I will do my best to help in any way that I can! If you want to send me a message or a photo of what you have been up to, I will always reply but it may take a little longer than at the moment as I am teaching in school! If you have not sent me anything or been in touch over the last week, please send me an email, I would love to hear from you!
I hope this helps. Please look after each other and take care. I am missing you all lots!
Stay safe! I am looking forward to seeing more of you back soon!
